Agriculture Service Sector Of ( MALR )
The SCC Secretariat Office is in
CASC. The SCC Secretariat office receives applications of seed import
or export based on the conditions determined by committee, which is
decreed by the concerned ministerial decrees.
Public & Private Seed Companies
CASC assumes the responsibility
for testing and certifying of seed through issuing production licenses
to seed production companies for known and for new varieties.
In addition to, CASC performs field inspection and seed testing for seed production done by these companies, and certifies the seed, which meet the standards set by the law.

falls within the administration and technical supervision of the
Agriculture Service Sector of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land
Reclamation (MALR).

The experience of Agricultural Research Central (ARC) is also sought in
the fields of applied research , agriculture extension , and in
training programmes e.g. in seed technology .The ARC is leading in
crops improvement in Egypt.

In addition to the cooperation
offered by the seed production companies by CASC, there is also a close
cooperation between CASC and ESAS as a private association encompassing
various non-governmental organizations working in the seed sector.
These stakeholders include seed companies, farmers, breeders and others.
CASC cooperates with ESAS to accelerate the process of shifting the seed industry in Egypt from the governmental sector to an open market system.
Both of CASC and EASA concentrate on adoption of all measures leading to enhancement of productivity and increasing profitability for farmers in the national seed market, in addition to enhance the competitive capability of Egyptian Agricultural and Horticultural Seeds on international markets.
